I've spent more than 25 years teaching O Level and A Level Mathematics and Accounting to students across Karachi and Pakistan more broadly. Two very different subjects on paper, but in the classroom, they call for the same thing: a student who actually understands what's going on, not one who's memorized their way to the next test.

Whether it's a proof in Mathematics or an entry in Accounting, I'd rather spend the extra time on the reasoning behind it than rush to the answer. A method learned by heart falls apart the moment a question is phrased differently. An idea that's properly understood tends to hold up no matter how it's asked.

My classes run the same way regardless of subject — work through the topic properly, solve problems together rather than watch me solve them, and put in real hours on past papers before exam season arrives. The aim isn't to finish a syllabus quickly. It's to leave every class a little more confident than you walked in.

One Teaching Philosophy, Two Subjects

Numbers on a balance sheet or a graph on a whiteboard, the approach doesn't change.

I teach at Alpha College at 38-C P.E.C.H.S Block 6 in Karachi, running classroom sessions in both Mathematics and Accounting alongside live online classes. Students looking for an online Maths or Accounting tutor in Karachi join remotely and get the same material, pace, and attention as anyone sitting in the room.

On the Mathematics side, that's meant untangling algebra, trigonometry, and calculus for students who've decided early on that the subject “just isn't for them.” On the Accounting side, it's usually double entry, depreciation, financial statements, and ratio analysis. Different topics, same job: explain it properly, then prove it with practice.

Thousands of students have come through my classes over the years, some for Mathematics, some for Accounting, and a fair few for both. Many stay on as they move up a level, and just as many arrive because a sibling, cousin, or classmate recommended me. That kind of word-of-mouth means more to me than almost anything else in this job.
